Favorite Queen Elizabeth Quotes

I had a few moments of sadness after hearing about the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. But that sadness was quickly replaced by smiles as I was reminded of some of her best moments (including that epic entrance into the London Olympics with James Bond) and saw the world’s concern over what will happen to the queen’s beloved corgis. I am of course a lover of words. So as we remember this iconic figure, I wanted to share a few of my favorite Queen Elizabeth II quotes:

1. “Everyone is our neighbour, no matter what race, creed or colour.”

2. “Although we are capable of great acts of kindness, history teaches us that we sometimes need saving from ourselves—from our recklessness or our greed.”

3. ”Grief is the price we pay for love.”

4. “Our modern world places such heavy demands on our time and attention that the need to remember our responsibilities to others is greater than ever.”

5. “Let us not take ourselves too seriously. None of us has a monopoly of wisdom and we must always be ready to listen and respect other points of view.”

6. "It’s worth remembering that it is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change."

7. "It has always been easy to hate and destroy. To build and to cherish is much more difficult."

8. “We may hold different points of view but it is in times of stress and difficulty that we most need to remember that we have much more in common than there is dividing us.”
